The Importance of an Internet Article Website

Are you looking for a business opportunity that involves the Internet? Does owning your own company turn you on? You are not alone. Here is an idea: set up an online article library in which you publish original articles. You don't pay for the articles, but instead offer authors free backlinks to their websites. Then, for a modest investment, secure a Page Rank 3 or higher website and run links off of it. By monetizing the site (i.e., selling ads and click-throughs) you can create a cash flow that should repay you for your initial investment and then some.

You would want to recruit information junkies as your article sources. Thousands of people around the globe love to write about and discuss the latest news and information. This will be their outlet. Unlike other article portals, you have minimal expenses because you don't pay for articles. In fact, you might even collect a small fee for publishing an article, the way some article libraries do.

How do you get an online article library site started? Here are some pointers:

  1. Hosting: Start with WordPress website hosting. Simply buy an expiring PR3 domain from a friendly online auctioneer. Then find a WordPress hosting site and set up shop there. You will want to apply a theme to WordPress - themes are usually available for free and come in a wide variety of styles.
  2. Content: Write a daily blog highlighting one or more interesting facts that currently vie for your attention. Don't be a sloppy author: avoid errors of spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage. No one will read your blog if it is poorly written, so if you need assistance, hire a professional writer to edit your material. You can locate one through a quick Google search. Choose a writer that offers a satisfaction guarantee. In addition to your blog, you post other people's articles for a nominal fee and provide the author with a backlink from your PR3 site.
  3. Backlinks: You need readers and authors in order to make the effort work. Your content, as interesting as it is, won't be enough to insure a large traffic flow. For that you will need backlinks, which are text links from another site to yours. The other site should be authoritative (have a Page Rank of five or higher) so that some of its Page Rank spills onto your site and thus boosts your Page Rank and your search engine performance. By carefully purchasing PR5 and PR6 backlinks, you can rise to Page One of the search engine results for your chosen keyword(s). You can purchase backlinks from an online broker that sells them. A package may run a few hundred dollars, but that's a well worth it and will lead to increased traffic. The rest is up to you.
